Each spring, Information Transport Solutions, Inc. (ITS) holds a charity golf tournament to support local nonprofits. The event’s success continues to grow with hundreds of participants and donors contributing. ITS employees organize and operate it as a way to give back to the community.
This year, ITS raised $32,000 from the tournament and a private donor provided an additional $25,000, bringing the total raised to $57,000. Supported charities include Alabama Parent Education Center/Imagination Library of Elmore County, the Family Sunshine Center, Jason Michael Hilty Memorial Scholarship Fund, and the Coosa Outdoor Worship Spot.
“Giving back is a core value of our company,” said ITS President Quincy Minor. “I’m proud to see our team come together each year to help these incredible organizations improve our communities.”
The Imagination Library provides books directly to the homes of Elmore County children to foster a love of reading and increase literacy. The Family Sunshine Center is a domestic violence support center with the goal of ending family violence and sexual assault and fostering hope and healing. The Jason Michael Hilty Scholarship Fund is a college fund for graduating Wetumpka High School students. The Coosa Outdoor Worship Spot is a 15,000 sq. ft. facility with dorms, a gym, and a worship area; it is used for church camps and special events.
The 10th Annual ITS Charity Golf Tournament was held on May 12, 2016, at Robert Trent Jones in Prattville, Alabama. This year’s tournament was their best yet in raising funds for charities throughout the River Region. The check presentation was made at ITS’ Wetumpka headquarters on Tuesday, August 23.
“Strengthening a community requires every person coming together to support neighbors,” stated ITS CEO Steve Meany. “We believe in supporting the mission of these incredible charities.”
